Some things can only be said at the keys.

Music is how we say what words can’t. The Kawai GX Grand Piano is built to carry all of it. Every feeling, at every level, because a Kawai GX simply feels better to play, and sounds better to listen to.

JAPANESE CRAFTSMANSHIP

The GX sets out to reproduce the delicate control of a full concert grand: the speed of touch and the depth of tone, usually reserved only for the finest players on the finest stages. This professional level of craftsmanship, now available for your home.

Touch

The Millennium III action

An ABS-Carbon fibre actions, aeronautics-grade compound that is lighter, faster and more rigid than wood, with an extended key length that holds an even touch to the very back of the keys.

Tone

The Kawai tone

A solid spruce soundboard and mahogany hammers, voiced with Australian and New Zealand merino wool. Soft outside for a whispered pianissimo, firm within for a room-filling fortissimo.

Craft

Made to hold its voice

A body braced against twenty tonnes of string tension, strengthened by design for increased stability and finished with a golden frame – certified by hand, with the Kawai mark.

Beautiful, long before the first note

A grand piano is the most expressive thing in a room, even when it’s silent. Lift the lid and the GX reveals its heart – a glowing golden frame, warm wood grain, deep black felt, and the mark of the craftsman who made it.

The reveal

A glowing golden frame within

Open the top lid and the spirit of the grand shines out – signed with the Kawai craftsman’s mark.

The form

Deep black polish, elegant lines

Gentle curves on the arms and music rest, a substantial front beam, finished in Kawai’s prized mirror polish.

The detail

Brass pedals, and a gentle close

Polished brass underfoot; the Soft-Fall lid lowers slowly and safely, even if released – protecting small hands.
